Doug George, M. D.

Dr. Doug George specializes in gynecology, obstetrics, and women’s health. Growing up in the West Desert of Utah gave Dr. George an early appreciation for wide-open spaces and wild places. After his father’s military career ended, his family settled in the outskirts of Chicago, and he attended St. John’s University. In 1984 he embarked on his medical career at the Chicago Medical School. Amid the chaos and excitement of inner city hospitals such as Cook County, he was drawn especially to OB/GYN: an uplifting specialty that helped bring new life into the world as well as offer the opportunity to perform procedures and provide care that made women’s lives better.

Knowing this was the right career choice, Dr. George went on to residency training at Illinois Masonic Hospital. At completion, he accepted a faculty position at the same hospital and started the Urogynecology/Pelvic Surgery program. This fantastic opportunity led to Dr. George’s appointment as Associate Director of Gynecology. However, an opportunity to move west beckoned and he moved to Salt Lake City to join a private practice affiliated with the University of Utah. In Salt Lake, Dr. George met his wife, Cindee, started a family, and subsequently could not resist an offer to move his family and practice to the Tetons.

Dr. George has had the privilege of providing care for the people of Western Wyoming for over fifteen years. When he moved here he considered himself an avid outdoorsman, but was humbled by the level of athleticism, commitment and passion that the people of Western Wyoming bring to their outdoor lifestyle. He still enjoys hiking, hunting, kayaking and skiing. In his own words, “I’m the luckiest man I know and every day that I wake up in the mountains, I know I’m at home.”

Dr. George’s professional interests include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, surgical management of incontinence and pelvic floor prolapse, and the full spectrum of obstetric care.

Dr. George provides patient care in Jackson, Pinedale, Marbleton/Big Piney, and Kemmerer, Wyoming.
